KWSP Managing Director selected by Grant Thornton UK LLP to be one of 100 Faces of a Vibrant Economy 2017

Managing director of high performance engineering solutions provider, KWSP, Kieron Salter was last night (7th November) named as one of the Faces of the Vibrant Economy 2017 at a special launch event in Bethnal Green, London.

For the second year running, professional services firm, Grant Thornton UK LLP, has complied its annual list of 100 Faces, which celebrates leaders from across the public, private and third sectors, who exemplify what it takes to drive the UK economy forward by using disruptive processes, ideas and innovations.

The firm has spent the past 18 months investigating how to develop a vibrant economy in the UK – one which realises the shared potential of companies, cities, people and communities. Grant Thornton sees a vibrant economy as a place where businesses can succeed, as well as doing good. By releasing its 100 Faces list, it hopes to inspire other businesses by showcasing the pioneers in this area, highlighting their inspiring leadership, innovation and contribution to their communities.

Following the launch event, KWSP managing director, Kieron Salter, said: “To be recognised by Grant Thornton as one of its 100 Faces of a Vibrant Economy is a huge honour and extremely exciting. At KWSP, we’re passionate about unlocking the UK’s full economic potential, and believe many of the opportunities lie in the high-performance engineering sector, in which the UK already excels. We are particularly keen to highlight the leaps businesses can make by utilising horizontal innovation*, as well as adopting new technologies afforded by the emergence of Industry 4.0**.

“I’m looking forward to leveraging my position as one of the Faces to further showcase the fantastic work we are already doing, and also to ensure that UK plc is able to take advantage of this momentum.”

In addition to heading up KWSP, Kieron is also a key part of KWM, a motorsport business, as well as Sports Aero Solutions Ltd, a joint venture with former Olympic Medallist, Chris Boardman and Totalsim, the computational fluid dynamics specialist.

Kieron is also a founding board member of the Silverstone Technology Cluster (STC) and one of the champions of the STC’s Digital & Advanced Manufacturing (DAM) special interest group (SIG).

Silverstone Park Commercial Director, Roz Bird, was also named as one of the Faces of a Vibrant Economy. She said: “To be named alongside Kieron, who is one of the STC’s most prolific advocates, is fantastic as it reiterates how important the cluster is to the UK’s future success. We’re extremely encouraged by this announcement and will be doing everything we can over the next 12 months to ensure that companies operating with, and within, the STC benefit from our involvement in this exciting venture.”
