KWSP invests in new talent and continues to look for more

High performance engineering consultancy and Additive Manufacturing specialist, KW Special Projects (KWSP), has boosted its team by an additional three members – further reiterating the successful year the Brackley company has had.

Based in the heart of Motorsport Valley, in Northamptonshire, the new employees will strengthen KWSP’s ability to provide high performance solutions and advanced technologies to a range of sectors. Capabilities include digital fabrication which encompasses Additive Manufacturing (3D printing), special purpose machine design, automation, composites and light weight structures.

The investment forms part of KWSP’s ambitious five year growth strategy and comes in the light of the increasing demand for advanced technology to increase speed, reduce cost and reduce weight. It also follows a recent investment of £100,000 in new state-of-the-art equipment to increase their Additive Manufacturing capability to meet the growth in demand from a range of sectors including most recently, the historic motorsport and classic car market.

Joining the team is Scottish born Cameron Korad, who impressed the KWSP team with his direct style of literally ‘knocking on the door’ and asking after apprentice opportunities. His proactive approach paid off and Cameron is now studying for his apprenticeship in motorsport engineering level 2.

KWSP’s intern and graduate programme has welcomed James Doran, on a year’s placement following his degree in mechanical engineering at University of Liverpool. His year will involve acting as project co-ordinator on a major F1 Project before embarking on a masters in motorsport engineering at Oxford Brookes or Brunel in September 2016.

International recruit, Ioanna Preza, from Greece, originally came to KWSP, as a result of a sending a speculative CV which resulted in a two month EU exchange programme. She was so successful in her stint with the company, that her position was made permanent and Ioanna now works as an engineer in special purpose machine design.

Kieron Salter, managing director of KWSP comments: “As a dynamic engineering team, working with new industry talent is hugely rewarding and inspiring. We continue to experience a rapid period of growth and continue to require exceptional employees to deliver innovative solutions to our customers. As such it’s vital we continue to attract high calibre engineers and professionals with either a wealth of experience or new ideas to create breakthrough technology
